Planning application for a new housing development on the old Nipa site in Llantwit Fardre.

A planning application has been submitted by Bellway Wales to build 95 houses on the old Nipa / Clariant in Llantwit Fardre. Since closure of the chemical site in 2012 the site has been left empty however in recent weeks the site has become a hive of activity with the land being cleared for development.

Bellway are planning to build a mixture of 2, 3 and four bedrooms homes together with a mix of one bedroom apartments, the plans also include a children’s play area with outline planning granted in May 2020.

This proposed development is on a brown field site in Llantwit Fardre and is different to other recent planning applications on green field sites such as Ystrad Barwig Farm and others in an around Efail Isaf.

There is a huge demand for housing within the area and this is expected to rise further with the ongoing housing developments on the old Llantrisant Road and the introduction of the new proposed metro system.
