Llantwit Fardre: Plan Your Street Party Now!
Communities in Llantwit Fardre wishing to hold a street party to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on the first May Bank Holiday weekend can now apply for a road closure – with Rhondda Cynon Taf Council offering support to complete the process.
The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place on Saturday, May 6, and there will be a UK Bank Holiday on Monday, May 8. Many events and initiatives will take place across the UK over the Bank Holiday weekend (May 6-8) to celebrate the Coronation.
To help residents and communities in Llantwit Fardre come together and mark this celebration, and in the spirit of the occasion, the Council will waive its charges for road closures for those planning a street party. Please note each individual street in Llantwit Fardre must apply for a road closure, and each party must take place on one of the days within the three-day Bank Holiday weekend (May 6-8).
Road closures take time to organise, and any closure required for a street party in Llantwit Fardre must follow a formal application process, so the Council is aware of each one – in order to inform other partner organisations.
Anyone in Llantwit Fardre wishing to hold a street party must apply to the Council before the deadline on Monday, April 3. Applications submitted after this date cannot be accepted. This can be completed on the Council’s website
Applicants in Llantwit Fardre will be informed of the outcome of their application by April 12.
