i was born in llantwit fardre what was then called haines town in 1947 i left there in 1968 and moved to the goytre near abergavenny my father in law was the local chemist mr jones right next door to pearce the butchers he later a shop in tynant my father and uncles worked at the cwm collery although i don,t live far away now in pontypool i often wonder about the place i was born and spent many happy years of my life .i have joined a local history group and i think that has prompted me to look back on my early life
