Ystrad Barwig Farm - Storm Dennis Flooding

Storm Dennis hit South Wales over the 15th and 16th of January 2020 flooding large parts of Pontypridd, Treforest and Upper Boat. The above picture was taken on the morning of the 16th and shows flooding of the stream on the site of the proposed Llanmoor Homes building development at Ystrad Barwig Farm Llantwit Fardre.

Update - Planning permission for 400 houses has now been rejected by the Welsh government in March 2020 due to the site being situated on a C2 flood plain, this is contrary to the recommendation of the inspector Hywel Wyn Jones who concluded the development should be approved. This is now the second time the development has been declined and we are hopeful as a community that this is the end of Llanmoors aspirations of developing the site.
